AVIGNON.
Map of Avignon
A great town to busk in the Summer! Lots of campsites just across the river. Great fun during the Festival (July?) but the competition will be fierce! If you intend to busk during the Fete it's worth looking for terraces off the beaten track as you'll really have no chance in the main squares unless you're a full Rock Band, a Bagpiper or a One Man Band.
Lots of cheap places to eat. I recomend Flunch, which can be found in most French towns.
The Cops are pretty relaxed (they have worst things to contend with than buskers) - just don't, as always, frighten the horses! Good Hunting.

AMSTERDAM
It's been a while since I played here. Tons of Cafes, Bars and Restaurants to play. Mostly in the Red Light district and around the three main Canals.
Terraces good in Summer, but lots of competition. I prefere the Winter
The Street was always dodgy.I've heard there's a new Permit system in operation - would welcome any information about it - post on Corkboard.
Lots of Hostels, Sleepins Squats and a Campsite to stay in.

Lovely place. I prefere it to Amsterdam. Play the street or terraces (some good ones along the canal). You can also play in the station shopping complex.

Paris. Whoever said 'Soap and water costs nothing' never lived in Paris!
Hostels Webcam
Not for the faint-hearted. Expect to work your fingers to the bone - just to get a roof over your head and something to eat.
Best area to stay used to be near 'Odeon' Metro. I have heard that it's possible to get a permit, but they only auddition twice a year. If anyone has any information please post it on the Corkboard
